Teaching Mathematics in Public
Description
In the past year, educators at all levels have experienced an increased dependence on digital video to reach their students. This was accompanied by a demand for resources, ways of being, sources of connection, and sparks of inspiration that could work in the Internet medium, with many students out of the classroom and learning from home. Many educators quickly found themselves in the position of becoming content creators in ways that were at times challenging or exciting. Today’s forum, we discuss those who have led with passion and embraced the use of video to provide support, spark curiosities, and instill intuitions towards an audience of learners and mathophiles, along with the challenges faced in production and consumption of this work.
